• In younger days, I did not enjoy reading books. If I remained so, I would be missing out on lots of interesting and helpful information. Today, I'm addicted to discovering knowledge. Being open to know things helps in our lives... and with our relationships. Incidentally, curiosity did not kill the cat. Not knowing enough probably did it in.  

• Did you ever hear the saying that "Every American should have a chicken in the pot, and a car in the garage" - or something like that? So simple, and pleasant an aspiration. But, by remaining in such a mind-set you would have never extended yourself to have the house that went along with that car in the garage, nor the stove to cook that chicken in the pot on, nor any of the other things to enjoy in your life beyond that simple chicken, pot, car, and garage mentality.

•  What if Columbus remained convinced that the world was flat? He would never have sailed from Spain to discover the 'New World'. If so, today we might be celebrating 'Norman Johnson Day' - instead of honoring Christopher Columbus.

Remain open to this world of possibilities. Never turn away from anything before considering its potential. Give new ideas a shot, because there's always time enough to discard concepts that prove unworthy or unworkable. But, the key is whether the proving is valid. So keep an open mind, because gaining wisdom is a prerequisite for a more satisfying life... along with all the great relationships in it. It is how you become an extraordinary individual.
